Default Looking to buy

Hi.. I am new, but haven't posted on that forum yet. A few weeks ago I lost my beloved 1996 850 wagon (manual trans) to a careless driver. I hit her head on as she made an illegal turn. The air bags never deployed, which I thought was strange considering the impact, but I never would have walked away from that crash in just any car. After a few seconds, when I realized I wasn't bleeding, all I could think of was-my car! How am I ever going to replace this car! I bought it car 4 years ago with 76,000 miles. Only had one costly repair (can't recall what). Of course I only had a sometimes working AC for the last 2 years, but even that I could live with, because when it worked it was so cold it hurt. I don't have much money, so some creature comforts went without repair. I have spend several weeks scouring the internet and dealers. Try finding a cheap Volvo with under a hundred thousand miles, let alone one with manual trans. Along the way, I am finding myself getting VERY nervous about owning another one, due to all of the bad reviews/repair costs. I have only come across 2 cars that were pretty much in my price range (assuming they will come down a bit).

2004 V70 R 78,500 mi-don't have a price on it yet (really love the wagon for my dog)
2001-S60 T5 38,000 mi $10,000

Any and all input would be very much appreciated.
