Hello Fellow Volvo Drivers,

I'm looking to replace my 740's transmission, currently there is an AW71 5 gear A/T...I will either replace with rebuilt A/T or do a conversion; A/T to a Manual M47 5 speed. Is there any good soul out there among the viewers of these great forum cells which can direct me to what mechanical/structural points, trouble spots, indicators, and general questions about the transmissions.

I will be able to see these two, per say, transmissions, and i will be asking about the mileage on them...other than that I would like to see whether i can go any further upon quality control and/or assurance on my end. You feel me'?

anyways...so, i would only be able to presume upon that which you have provided that perhaps there are only points for idiots or for those deemed fit for the know how, oiy...well, i certainly would enjoy being able to have at the very least one point besides the mileage to check upon.

Ask around the Turbobricks forum...they may have some insight on the issue? Or the Volvo Speed forum....
