just bought a mint 98 v70 glt from family friends. low miles all factory maintained loaded etc.
ran great first 2 days then in order over next 10 miles:
-started driving in winter mode randomly came out of it and was fine,
-stalled and wouldnt start then started and drove fine,
-winter mode problem again, shut it off, battery dead wont start again,
-towed to house starts fine and runs 5mins then battery dies and shuts
down, wont start for another 6 hours.
-winter mode stuck on, cel, abs, tacs, up arrow, all on
ground, alternator, battery, transmission?
im a toyota truck guy so this thing is like a ferrari to me
help!!!!

 

see if you can get the codes pulled from it and wait for tech to chime in, lol

 

yea going to borrow one and see what codes come up, then the fun begins!! seems wierd having trans and charging problems happen at the same time, which leads me to believe its the 3rd unknown problem causing this

 

It sounds to me like a fundamental battery voltage/supply issue.
Don't let all the electronics fool you, problems like this are usually fairly straightforward and all the usual troubleshooting like checking charging voltage, connections etc will work just as well.
