I've looked everywhere, but I can't get a straight answer to this. I have s 2022 S60 B5 and it's recommending that I use Castrol Edge Professional VCC C6SP SAE 0W-20. Well apparently Castrol makes this specifically for Volvo (at least that what it says on their website confirmed in Castrol's website online chat) and the only place to buy it is at the dealership. Castrol website chat also said I could use Edge Euro, but I can't find that either, even though they told me I could find it in the US. Can anyone give me possible alternatives? I've never had such a hard time finding motor oil before. Thanks in advance!

 

check the owners manual for the oil spec standards required for the car then look for an oil that meets that spec. With that said, Castrol Edge is pretty easy to find so the simple approach is to buy what Volvo / Castrol cite. Thank you for your reply. I've actually already checked bob's forums with no luck. As for the what volvo says is the required oil they list as 0W-20 C6 (API SP). Now it's not hard finding 0W-20 weight, what I have a hard time finding is the "C6" additive, at least I think that's what the C6 is. I can find C5 variants so I don't know what the difference is. I also know that VCC RBS0-2AE 0W-20 is a common volvo oil. Not sure if I can still use that or not. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it in the sense that most of the european variants of different oil brands will work at the 0W-20 weight?

 

You can buy a 6 pack of Castrol Edge Professional-V on ebay for 88.00 includes free shipping. If you search EBay, it will come up . Best to grab it up when it is listed, although in the past couple of months, same seller has listed twice.
