Hi, I’m looking at buying a 2005 Volvo XC90 2.5T with 109,000 KMs..... I’m new to Volvo’s so is this an ok purchase? Is there anything wrong with this car or it’s engine? Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks 😊

 

Had one, also had a Tahoe and the overlap was too much, one of the had to go, I liked the Tahoe, my wife didn't like the XC90 so we sold it, we bought her an MDX which suited her purposes better.

What it is: Good car, big, heavy. Nice highway ride.
What it isn't ; An serious off road car, a particularly good tow vehicle,an economy car

It's getting older now, Hoses are brittle, maintenance phase has begun
Are service records available? You want to make sure it's been maintained and properly.

If you can handle the size, it's a great "soccer mom car" and family trip car.We found it to be a bit unwieldy for a grocery getter and city car and the Tahoe served the truck role better. Years later, we are moving to a more rural setting and plan to make frequent 6 hour trips to see the grandkids and are thinking about another one however.
