Default passing inspection. xc90

Hi I am new to this forum,

I recently bought a 2006 xc90 and have trouble passing the inspection. The monitor for the OBDII keeps saying that it's readiness is a FAIL. We drove the car at the suggestion of the mechanic 25 miles, 50 miles another 100 miles.. In fact we have been driving the car for an entire week hoping to clear the sensors, After an engine light showing up and reduced engine speed, another mechanic with more knowledge of Volvo's did a diagnostic and found that a repair needed to be done on the throttle. After the repairs the car was driven again, but failed again the inspection,

We then took the car for a drive again in the morning and after a cooldown of 3 hours we drove in the afternoon again with doing a specific drive set up to get the sensors to clear.. But to no avail. It has not cleared. The car now has two not ready lights. Evap and Catalyst monitor are not ready. I have been told to drive the car again and do a cold start and then 30 miles at a steady 55 miles an hour without breaking. then bring the car back. The car drives very well, but the inspection is giving me a lot of headache and stress.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to resolve this? All I have been told is that this Volvo is very stubborn.

Thank you
