Happy new year all
When I took my V50 for a service recently the break pad wear was reported as 20% front and 50% rear. I was told this was normal on some Volvo cars. I would have expected the fronts to have worn more than the rears. Any Ideas.
Also I am thinking about changing the car later this year for the new V40 D4, does anyone know of any problems.
Pat.

On the P1 cars, the rear brakes wear faster than the fronts.

I would think that they told you how much pad was remaining.

If those are remaining percentages, the rears must have been replaced by now.

Thanks for the reply. The pads were worn down 50% at the rear and 20% at the front.

So neither needs replaced. This video shows how you can quickly check them yourself.

I don't know the breakdown of application of brake pressure front vs. rear, but I would assume the rear is more since this is normal for the P1 cars.
