I've noticed this and remarked in the past that there are times the dealers service and sometimes parts are competitive.

Four wheel alignment is 99

My local garage is $40 to rotate and balance
Local alignment shop is the same price as Volvo dealer $99

So I am not always about negative doom and gloom.

Still haven't decided if I want them to remove my door panel to look at lock actuator?????

dealers also frequently run service specials so you can also check their web page to see if they have something that meets your needs. Wheel alignments and tire rotations etc are frequently offered, particularly around the time when the shops are slow or seasonal service items. Last time we needed tires I got a buy 3 get one free at the dealer that was competitive to mail order tire pricing. I also just found a $25 off coupon for an alignment for my VW so check your Volvo dealers as well.

 

I do have a holiday wish coupon for $25 off service. So using the coupon makes it even more competitive!
