We have had numerous Volvos and on the last 3 cars we have wanted to install Remote Starters. Each time we have been told "can't be done"
We just got a 2002 S60 and thought by now Volvo would have figured this out, that people do want this feature. Well I just found out that it still couldn’t be done. This was a disappointment on our last 2 850 Turbos but one would think that by the new millennium this would be sorted out.

Are there any hidden secrets to installing a remote starter in the far North?

It is a major pain to get installed. Also a spare key would have to get wire tied under the steering column cover to make it all work.
Most shops won't mess with it but there is some that will.(That is aftermarket alarm shops)
