Remove all seats for 2009 v70 Volvo Camper Car - Need Advice
Hi guys and gals,
I'm looking to build out a camper set up in my Volvo v70 2009. I thought about buying a large Used (2009-14-ish) SUV or minivan but every time I get in the weeds I realize that none of these vehicles is as reliable as my 2009 Volvo (i.e. before the Chinese bought the company). So what I want to do is remove the back seat and the passenger front seat. I then want to drive the car without any airbags going off (clearly). Can this be done...if so how? Any links to more relevant DIY info would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Leah

look for vids on Youtube on the procedure for removing/installing seats. The one thing to sort out is the seatbelt sensor and SIPs airbag in the passenger seat. easy enough to remove the seat - just disconnect the battery first, the unplug the connectors. The seat occupy sensor is likely just a simple switch so that could be jumpered, but the challenge will be in how to avoid the fault code when SIPS computer senses the open circuit. Google around for guides on installing after market seats (which don't have the side air bag) - probably a vid on youtube as well that will give you some insights and tips.
