I need help installing fog lights for my 2002 S40 1.9T. I have the connector for the fog lights and i already have the housing and all. I cant turn on the fog lights. I have the OEM cable and i tested it with a meter and it read 5V. I plug the bulb w/ adapter onto the connecter and the wire snakes through up somewhere, i dont know where. When i press the fog switch it wouldnt turn on. If the switch doesnt work, then i have a relay and 12AWG cables to wire up the fog lights to a new aftermarket switch, but im looking to install factory right now. I dont know what the issue is with the fog lights. Please help!

PS: It's not a fuse issue, fuse is fine. I think it might be the green connector issue? Which color wire are the Front Fog Lights? Also I don't know if the car had fog lights installed or not.

If I am not mistaken,that car requires software to let the car know it now has foglights. Been a couple years since I sold fog light kit for that car,but im fairly certain it needs a download to tell the car it has them.

 

I have the same issue. The VIDA software needs turn that feature on since the car did not have it from factory. I know, ridiculous!

 

Is this an expensive and besides programming, difficult install? I have an '01 S40, that I might like to have fog lights.
