2008 S40 trunk release works sometimes and then not for several days and then works again. Emergency release OK.
Clicking' sound from open buttom always is there.
Any ideas as to why the trunk won't release/open sometimes with the remote key? Changed key and still the same.

is your car a keyless?? if so try to play with the keyless. otherwise, there maybe an internal with the trunk lock unit itself.

 

I have a similar problem. No clicking at all near the trunk handle though. I can open it from the emergency trunk release inside the car. Is there a fuse I should check?
