The lights behind the climate controls in my 1999 S80 are out. I called the local shop to inquire as to if these bulbs were replaceable. The told me yes, but advised me against doing this as the "whole car can end up dead, and you'll have to replace that control unit for $600". I called two other dealers and got that same response.
Has anyone successfully replaced these bulbs and should I be that concerned about killing the car?
