I think you and 92Typhoon need to hook up and make a deal. I might have told you to price it too high, but I'm sitting on two of them and want the prices tobe high. What other wheels and tires do you have for it, if you sell the ones that are on it separately? Where are you advertising the car? I don't see it on Autotrader.com. That's where I would put it and make sure you call it a T5R not just an R. That's just the way the searches work. You can't search for just an R, but you can T5R and you get the 96 and 97's with that search. There are quite few on there I have admit. More than usual. I had to quit looking cause some are pretty cheap, but one guy is trying to $13,449 for his. Have you put on the for sale on volvospeed and turbobrick?

I really wish I could buy it. My wife and I keep discussing what we're going to do, and so far, all we have decided is our annual trip is Sept will be put off so we can get another car. We just haven't decided how much money we're going to put in our current 850. We've though about selling the current 850and putting the money toward an 850-R, then, later on, getting my wife what she wants. (I'm the one obsessed with turbo bricks. haha) She can't decide what she wants to drive. Trust me, we're still working things out, and your car is still in the top running.

The problem w/ these cars, is most people don't care about the "R", and the only people who really know how rare the car is is the 850 enthusiasts.
Your average buyer won't know that the Pegs are worth 1000 dollars, but havings rims definetely aids in selling imo.
I think that really, the only people who would pick that car up is the Volvo enthusiasts. I feel for some reason, most people opt to go Japanese (especially if they're spending $7500), even though these cars give you more bang for the buck..

Two things to keep in mind are mileage and price. Per KBB.COM, MY car, '96 850R with only 64k on it, private party in excellent condition is $8500. I would sell my car if I got that offer for it. But I really wouldn't want to go below that. The guy asking $13k is out of his mind. I don't care what mods you've done to the car, it doesn't make the car worth more money.

well more bad news for me.... the a/c i think is completly out now.... so im done, i dont have the time or patience to deal with this car anymore...i drove it to to the dealership to trade it in.....now that im well aware that im going to lose my *** on this car, im ready to got thru with it.they offered my $6500 as is with the new wheels and tires, and the grill and all as is.I told them that i would think about it and get back to them.
$6500 sucks im losing so hard but i dont want this car anymore... there is 1000$ dollars worth of tires and wheels on it. brand new fuel filter and and fuel pump and rear break pads.
so there it is.... i will sell the car for 6k with 105k, the pegs, new tires, compustar alarm and auto start, and all the things i have fixed i just need to sell this car so i can get something else. and i would like to do it fast.

RE: Selling an 850R....Hard?
Ithought about parting the car, but now i think the parts will be my only selling point.
I owe 7k on this thing and one way or another im going to lose my ***. I feel the car is worth atleast "poor" bluebook ($6500). Im going to give it alittle longer, beforeI shell out another $90 to throw it in the autotrader. if anybody knows anyone looking for one heres a chance to get a R for cheap.
Thank you

I've sold on Autotrader several times. I thought the cost with one picture was around $40.00. Have you put it on the volvospeed for sale forum? There is also a mathews.com auction site that can be accessed through vovlospeed auctions.
When I'm looking for a car, Autotrader is the first place I look. E-Bay is the last place I look, but I do look there, but only for something close enough to look at. I've traveled as far as 600 miles to buy a car. Flew in and drove home.
