Default Turbo Unit

Hello
I just bought my a 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo. Great car, but i was wondering is it at all possible to disconect or turn off the turbo? if so how is this done? any suggestions?

Are you wanting to remove it to service it? Or are you wanting to make your car a "non-turbo"?

I've got the same year, make and model Volvo. As far as I can tell, you can't run without the turbo...it's not designed to. It's an integral part of the intake system. If you removed or bypass the turbo, your car would suffocate because it wouldn't get enough air into the intake. There would also be orphaned oil and water lines that cool the turbo that you would have to deal with.
