I know that I'm new here, but I thought you all may be interested in looking at what I found last weekend while on a drive.. It's a Volvo graveyard!

I couldn't get any closer than this, there were signs all over the place and I was in deliverence country if you know what I mean...

A 145!

Not sure WHAT these models are...

It was a few miles north of Watkins Glen on Rt414 in New York... The pics don't really do the place justice, I didn't take a pic of the whole place which was a lot bigger - there were a few more rows near me plus a LOT more up on that hill I could see peaking through the trees. There was a phone number on a shed near the road that I took down and may give it a call sometime.

I just wish that I had a garage so I could buy one of the many old 240's that were there to fix up.

Whats that bring the total to? Four? One more Scott and you can get fleet rates on your insurance! That'd be cool.

Why not the 164?

It was a Nice car and a 6 cylinder.
If it was a Manual trans they were awesome.

Seriously Dads850....you should post that number. I'm going to need various "replacement" parts on my 240 project sooner than later

*I* haven't called.. No real need to, but that is the number that's posted on the shed right next to the first row of cars. Try it and just tell the dude that you got that number from "a friend" who was in the area over the weekend. There are a LOT of cars at this place, not all Volvo's either: I saw a few old Mercedes (you can see part of a white one in the pic with the black Volvo with the red van behind it) and I think I saw a couple of old Jags too - plus there were a smattering of good ole American cars there. The bulk of them were Volvo's though.

If I have time, I may try to stop by this weekend. It's a 2-hour drive from my house, so it all depends on what's going on... If I can, I'll give the number a call and see if they mind if I take a walk around the place with my camera.

BTW: In the last pic I posted, the red Volvo, anyone know the model? I really like it and if I can find a source for parts, I may try and buy it.

EDIT:: I believe that I found what model that is. According to a pic I found a vlvworld, it's a 120. Is that accurate?

Looks like it's a 2nd style 164 ('73-'75)

Do you think a small block v8 will fit in that 122 to make it into a street rod? [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Possible the V-8 would fit.

And Yes the Black one is a 164.

They were pretty awesome cars. Inline 6 cylinder with dual Carbs.

Would burn the tires in 1st,2nd and chirp 3rd.

LOL I have a 2 car garage that I can't even park a Bicycle in.

I need to get the Mustang in there to pull the engine out and work on the car.
