Volvo Mechanic in North San Diego ???
I have a 2002 S60 and I'm looking for suggestions for a good Volvo mechanic or repair center in North San Diego.
Immediate issues:
- need tune up
- front end alignment issues / tire wear
- front left headlight module broken
- minor body damage
I am always leery of going to dealerships, and believe I am being overcharged.
It would be great to find a reputable mechanic or repair place that was good with Volvo's and was semi-close.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Welcome to the forum, I hope you find it helpful.
Since I'm across the Pacific, I'm not sure how to find a good shop in northern San Diego area. Yes dealers charge more but generally they do the job right the first time. And they try to charge more once they figure out a customer doesn't know much about cars.
When looking for a shop, I would look for the following criteria:
- The shop specialises in Swedish/Euro makes.
- The technician working on your car is a fully-certified ASE-Master Technician.
- The shop does not "undercharge". You cannot expect a quality service for less but should be less than what the dealer charges.
- The shop listens to you when you describe the trouble, rather than deny your opinions or argue.
See if other members would know a good shop in your area.
Best of luck to you,
JPN
