Does anyone know if the transmission fluid in a 2012 Volvo S80 is in a sealed unit. I was having problems with rough changing . The dealership recommended a readapted update, it didn't work. Now they me tell that a transmission fluid change will do the trick. Are they giving me a line ?

 

A fluid change will not fix any problems you are having with your transmission. If anything would have fixed it it would have been the software telling the transmission how to shift. How long have you driven it since the update? Transmission shift adapts are similar to fuel trim adapts. They can take a few hundred miles to learn them correctly.

Thanks for answering. I had the software update about six weeks ago and I have driven about 1200 miles since then.
Today I took the car to the dealership again and this time they checked the transmission fluid and to was down . So they topped it up and it seemed to have fixed the problem. Thank you anyway.
One more question should I have been charged for the software update ? The car is still under warranty .
