Default Need to siphon my tank

I got a new vehicle, and it was shortly after I filled up my old Volvo 740 stationwagon. I'm just gonna donate my Volvo, but with these ridiculous gas prices, I want to get all the gas out first. I have a siphon, I have gas tanks, but I just can't get the dang siphon all the way down to the gas. I push it in as far as I can (probably 3 feet) but when I pull it back out, it's not even wet. Is there a trick? Help Please?!?!?

ORIGINAL: S60T5

Take off the fuel rail and turn the car on. LOL!
But that wouldn't work either. The relay would only work for a few seconds then turn off.
