I need to have my 2002 V70XC with 125K transmission looked at. It seems to slip or hesitate going from reverse to drive. All maintenance has been kept up to the book. Also I need the seat warmer pads in the front seats replaced before the weather turns. Thanks

I bought a 99 S70 and needed a Volvo mechanic throughout my search and actually used this guy and he was great. He actually came to all the places and private sellers I was looking at on his own time and inspected all the cars. He works from home or comes to you. He is honest and a straightforward guy who knows his Volvos. Glad I found him. He ran VIN numbers for me ahead of time and everything.

I should mention that he is located on the West Side right where the Edens and Kennedy split, but like I said he will travel if you need him to. He inspected a S40 for me in Austin and looked at an S70 in Lincolnwood and looked at the one I ended up buying in Bucktown at Western and Fullerton.

Swedish Car Specialists in Schaumburg. They only work on Volvos and are super honest. I have an '02 S60 and have been taking it there for 4 years. Highly recommend.

 

I did try Swedish car specialist and many other shops they ok but Expensive but I have found better way fix my VOLVO right and save money and I'm happy !

He will walk you through the hole car repair process and explain to you the issue that you are having and he will not talk you down like most places do .Private Volvo Mechanic i did try him after I was reading and researching volvo mechanic I was reading all this postings online all around about him so I tried it . I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to write about the great experience we had last month with Enes. My son recently moved to Chicago and was experiencing multiple issues with our V40. After consulting this forum, we emailed volvochicago@live.com. He contacted me right away and we had the car towed to his place. He took great care of our car, was very prompt and responsive.

I will agree with the previous 2 posters. Private volvochicago@live.com has been working on my 08 s80 and 09 xc90 for about 2 years now. He's saved me hundreds of dollars, if not thousands. He does use genuine Volvo parts or offers suggestions for better quality aftermarket brands. Your choice, no pressure. I like that.

Probably the best service experiences I've had over the last few years. His prices are fair and workmanship is of the highest quality.

Does your Volvo Mechanic follow up with a phone call after service to make sure everything is ok? Mine does!

I even got a Happy New Year text this year, lol.

 

Volvo Mechanic has been maintaining my 240 since last year.

As I former mechanic myself, motorcycles, I can say that he is very detail oriented, shows all parts and explains where the parts were failing. Also sent me digital pictures.

I wasted allot of money on other mechanics in the past that did not do good work. In my opinion, you need to look no further then volvochicago.

If you are looking for a great mechanic in the Windy City area then look no further. I have seen a few other folks recommend Enes at VolvoChicago@live.com and I can attest that he is the real deal. He is hundreds of dollars cheaper than other Volvo shops and he has access to parts at a very fair price for any type Volvo.
I have used him for years and trust me, use him once and you will never go elsewhere.
