Hi there! New to the group. So I've had my s60 for a year now. Love it but it's driving me nuts. Tranny slips when driven for long periods of time. Had to replace the Tbps when it went into limp mode last month. Ac/heater blower comes on and shuts off constantly. Radio switches stations constantly. The high beams were coming on when I turned. Super glued a fracture in the turn signal switch. Well now I left the car for about a 1/2 hour and I come back to the radio on and instrument panel on. Keys in my hand! Stuck my key in and turned it over and got absolutely nothing. Turned the key back and the car tried to turn over!!!! Turned the key forward and nothing again. Pulled the keys out and put them in and turned it over and it started!!!!! I cannot find one forum close to my problem! Please help!

Perhaps your first step would be to scan the car with the factory software/scan tool called VIDA - Some of your problems might be related to a bad CEM - but a scan would be the first step.

Is that scan tool special? I have a friend who can come read codes but it's not specific to Volvo. Also I was reading about CEM. Do you think if I tried to check it for burns or clean it, I can harm it?

VIDA is the volvo factory tool that talks to all of the computers (including doing program configs etc) and can read data directly from the sensors not just scanning for OBD2 codes. Sounds to me like you have something more mechanical going on like a an ignition switch issue. Next time it acts up try wiggling the key to see if that helps the switch make contact.
