wont start
I own a 2001 Volvo S60. I tried to start the car today but it did not work. Everything woprks, the radio, the electric doors, etc... but when I turn the key, nothing happens. Any ideas? Do I take it to the dealer or try to find a mechanic elsewhere?
Thanks

Haven't written in for a while, but had to chime in on this one. I have an 04 S60 and just yesterday was leaving the mall, put the key in and nothing. Dash lights came on, all other electrical working, but nary a sound, even a click. AAA came, thought it was the battery, but that was fine. He said it might be mymaster key - that sometimes there can be a problem with the security code in the chip, and this can immobilize the engine. Recommended I try the regular key (which, of course, I didn't have - note to self, always carry an extra key). My husband came with his key and no go at first, but after waiting about an hour (for the AAA tow), the car started up with both keys, and it's been fine since. Hope this helps. By the way, I'd love one of the S60 experts to add any knowledge they have regarding this situation.
