Hi, I just bought a 2006 S40 T5, and I'm in love. I plan to drive this car for the next 10 years! So.... I joined the forum to get an idea of what I need to do to keep it running, what issues I should be aware of, and what products I should use to maintain the interior (leather, carpet, dashboard, etc) and exterior (black paint) surfaces.

My first recommendation would be to take it to the dealer and have them install the "155 software upgrade" while the vehicle is still under warranty. It could prevent a lot of headaches in the future, and it's free

Regular maintenace is key. I think you'll be able to find a wealth of info on your s40 on this site. Good luck with the new car!

 

What is the 155 software upgrade?

My Check Engine light came on yesterday! I was so shocked! I called the guy who sold me the car, and he told me to bring it in that day. They hooked it up to the computer and said it was some type of sensor that was too sensitive. The recalibrated it and reset the computer. I was a little hesitant to accept that as a solution..... He says if it comes back on again, they'll replace the part.
