I'm sure many have faced this issue, but I need to know the fix, when the power button Is pressed, the radio lights up, then goes right off, no sounds, no radio stations visible, but the menu options show, like FM1,FM2,Cd etc, but no sounds, happened overnight, it was playing, then the next day NOTHING, been this way for weeks, and tried three other radios in the vehicle, No Help!!
any REAL Suggestions?
That sound system works with a MOST, a fiber optic network, connected in a loop. If any component is not connected the system does not work. The fiber optic lines are the orange ones on the back of the ICM (infotainment control module) I'm guessing that's what you are calling the "radio". The part with the buttons, ***** and display in the center console. Volvo includes all possibilities in their diagrams - but you probably only have The ATM, (antenna module in the roof), ICM, AUD (amp under passenger seat), and MP2 (Media player module/ Cd player) . The MP1 shown is a minidisc player, not sold in North america. DPY is the pop up Nav screen in the dash, Phm is a phone pad in the dash, MMM is the dvd player under the drivers seat for the NAV system and SUB is a subwoofer module. Not shown on the page 137 diagram is all the wiring for speakers going to the AUD, It's on a different page.
I would scan the car with a compatible scanner first - one that can talk to all control modules in the car. If not possible - make sure the fiber optic network is connected. If you start swapping modules - Usually most of those modules (if replaced) need a software download to make them talk to each other (using VIDA). Meaning used modules may not work. Xemodex can fix your ICM if that's the problem. Common failures courtesy of xemodex.

ok, I have another quick question?
How many fiber optic lights should be coming out of the back of the ICM?
I only see one red light.
How many fiber optic lights should be coming out of the back of the ICM?
Don't know - never looked - but looking at the most diagram it shows C1 on the ICM as the input and port c2 as the output. Which port do you see light on?
