91' 245 no spark / ignition
First post, so pardon if this is in the wrong area / previously discussed. I searched but computers are not my friends - as I am about to discuss.
Long story: 91' 240 wagon I bought not running a few years ago. After new (name brand) plugs, wires, coil, cap, oil + filter, battery, junkyard ecu, etc etc - it runs for a few months, maybe 2000 miles. It died one night, and upon investigation - no spark to the distributor. I've tried a working coil and ecu, still nothing. I found a distributor from 123ignition - seems to be an all in 1 unit - sends signal to coil. no computer? I hope. I'm calling the company tomorrow to verify it will fit. But besides physically fitting - will the ecu be affected by not having a signal from the coil? I'd prefer if this had no computers in it. I'm at a loss and just want to drive my car. Any help is appreciated, sorry about the long story.
