Another new guy
Hey guys,
New guy here. Bought a 98 s70 with 2.4l for 300 bucks. 205,000 miles. Needs a little work. Oil leaks, body damage, brake work needed. But good working order. Nothing I can't handle. Think I got a good deal. Interior is ok. Best of all, the wife is syked. I'll check in once in a while as I learn about my new project. Looks like you all have a good forum here. See ya.

The first thing I would recommend you is to check for possible recalls:

Also, make sure that the timing belt & its related components have been replaced IAW scheduled intervals (70,000 miles/5 years). If it hasn't been done, this would be the first thing I would get taken care of.

Thanks for the replies. Besides the normal maintenance, is there any big problems I should be aware of? Know to replace the timing belt as a high priority. Any habits this model tends to exhibit? Thanks guys.
