Hello..Well I never thought I'd post anything on a forum let alone purchase a volvo..but I needed a safer, "family" car and now I'm waiting for my volvo to arrive..it's a 98 v70 basic engine I guess..non turbo..2wd. I'm anxious and nervous at the same time as I purchased it online on ebay. it's got posted 111k. Anyone else out there in same situation? I know I'll be dropping it off at a local dealer for thorough check. Any suggestions on what is PRIORITY? tune up, timing belt ..etc?

The major tune up is every 30,000.The timing is due every 70,000.Once you have it check out they will let you know whats wrong.If you have any quiestions just come back here and post.We will find the answer for you.Bye the way congrats that is the best year for the V70 so far.

 

I AM VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT I MADE A GOOD PURCHASE..WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT 98 IS THE BEST YEAR? OH, AND I CAN'T STOP LOOKING AT V70'S..I THINK THEY LOOK GREAT FOR A SUPPOSEDELY FAMILY CAR! ....AND OF COURSE...ANOTHER QUESTION...DID ALL V70'S COME WITH 3RD SEATING?(ONES FACING REAR?)

 

The 98 model year did not come with an electronic throttle body.Which is the best thing of all.Second not a network car with extra computers in it to go bad.They have better throlle response.And over all better than the 99 and 2000 cars.No not all V70 came with 3rd row seating it was a option.
