Default buying 850 or pre2000 V70

Some years ago I had an 850 2.5GLT and am now considering a later 850 or a V or S70 (up to probably 1998 as only around £1000/1500 to spend. Any advice on which models and mpg to expect would be appreciated. I need to pull an 18ft caravan with it. Regards Brian

I would not pull anything over 3,000 lbs. The 850 and the 98 V/S70 are basically the same car.

I personally would not pull anything heavier than say a lawn mower trailer with a front wheel drive car. I think you are just asking for transmission problems.

Hello Brian,

Greetings from Narita, Japan.

I would follow the 2 gentlemen's advice. 850 & V80 are too nice to be damaged by pulling something heavy. Refer to the owner's manual, and I would not exceed what is stated in it.

Cheers,

JPN
