Carpeting the tailgate of a 240 wagon?
Hi! Has anyone out there replaced the carpet in the tailgate of a 240 wagon?
I’m planning to grab one of the molded kits and some matching yardage but am wondering how exactly to use that yardage to complete the back. The bottom panels seem fairly straightforward in terms of removing the faded and stained old stuff and gluing on the new. I’m certain I can replicate the seams on the back half of the wheel wells. And I’m comfortable with safely removing the delicate rigid plastic pieces that cover the C pillars.
But I’m concerned about removing the old carpet from the compressed cardboard-type panels (like the piece on the back door).
Can anyone shed some light on this process for me or share the way you’ve done or would do this?
