New Volvo owner. I picked up a 94 850 a couple months ago that was in need of some work and the owner did not feel like messing with it. It was mixing oil and water plus other stuff. I have been in the DSM community for almost 15yrs (you can google my SN on YT for vids of my old Talon) but have never wrenched on a Volvo. So I undertook the task. Seemed quite arduous at first and I barely had time to work on it due to my work schedule. Picked up the car for what I considered pretty cheap (600bux) for such a quality vehicle. Fixed the HG and did the required serviceable stuff. The car was not a smoker so I did not want to risk taking it to a machine shop and have them mess it up (just bad experiences with other cars. Had that happen a lot with my old Mitsu.) New top end seals, gaskets, head bolts, and the car runs great. I happened to be scouring through Ebay and picked up a set of mint factory wheels from an 06 S60 and tossed it on the 850. Tinted it all around and I am very happy with the results. Much thanks to the various online resources which made my job bearable. I really love the car. Happy to be a member of the community. Pic of my 850. Only other thing I plan to do is lower it a tad and enjoy it. I need to do the CV axles since they are both shot.
