Thanks for the reply,I've called and all the dealers are $450 to $500+ . Someone must know were I can get it cheaper.

 

Check if you have any indy volvo shops around. They are usually cheaper than dealers. But the price will not be much lower. The bulk of that cost is the key fob itself which is about 300-400 bucks or so. The rest is labor.

 

And a VIDA subscription and the key download -

An indy shop can "pool" customers needing downloads to share the cost of the subscription. That is program multiple cars during the 3 day subscription period. I did that a couple of times when customers needed keys or remotes and I was programming a module in another car.

 

My local shop would do the same exact process. 3 day subscription + download and do multiples if you could wait for a few other people to get keys, it saved a bit of money for the customer.

 

I meant call some locksmiths. I doubt it will be that much cheaper if they can even do it.
