Engineer Endorsed
Glad to be a part of the community. I became fond of Volvos when my friend's parents bought an 850 turbo wagon in the mid nineties. Cool car indeed.
I inherited my first Volvo when I married my wife. She had a 2005 S40 all wheel drive and I loved, loved, loved that car. I am an engineer and I admit I can be over critical. Never have I owned anything I couldnt complain about until the S40.
It was a bitter sweet day last month when we traded in the S40 for a new XC60 in Saville Gray (amazing color). At a quarter million miles she still ran like a fine swiss (swedish) watch.
Cant wait to buy something from the early sixties for my wife. That's her dream-mobile.
Fine and functional brand w/o nonsense frills.
Safe motoring.

Welcome to the forum.
Safe motoring indeed (I hit a deer in a 2007 Camry and caused a $2000 body work).
As a certificated aircraft mechanic myself, I have utmost respect for engineers & technicians.
