Default First Car

Hi, I am just now getting into the market for a first car. I am also very interested in getting a Volvo V70 R. I just have a few questions about the general reliability and versatility of the wagon. Is the platform relatively easy to work on and fix yourself? Is it reliable enough to have as a car and not spend too much on parts besides regular fluid changes and regular maintenance. Is it reliable after 200k miles. Is the R worth it over the 2.5t? Lastly, is the manual transmission worth the extra cash? Thank you for any questions you can answer.
