High Mileage V70 ?'s
Hello - I know that this belongs on the V70 board but i have decided to create this post here also because the S70/V70 internals are the same and I need the advice somewhat quickly.
So, I recently came across a 1998 V70 T5 for a great price on Craigslist. I called the seller and we arranged for a test drive. The cars interior is somewhat dirty, etc. but im 18, so its not a big deal to me.. Anyway, the car has 210,000 on the clock. I understand that volvos have excellent reliability (currently driving a NA S70 with 140K), but is that too many miles?
The asking price is only $1900, so if the car drives for another few years without any major problems, I would be totally satisfied with my purchase.
My question is, is it likely for a car with that high of miles to go another couple years with no big problems?
Thanks for any help!

210,000 miles on a Volvo isn't really a whole lot as long as it's been serviced properly. Oil changes @3,500 miles, and a few other things. Volvos are super reliable for the most part as long as they are taken care of. Some also say they are expensive to service. They aren't really. I would say ask the seller questions like where has the car been serviced, what intervals for oil change, sparkplugs, etc... Also ask for records on it. If you have Volvo independent service place ask for an inspection. If the wagon has been serviced properly you can get a ton more miles out of it. I personally like to change the oil on a turbo Volvo no more than every 4k and also like to use Synthetic oil. BUt that's up to the individual. Good Luck in your searc for your Volvo. Keep us updated on what ever you do.
