Hello all. I just bought a non running 544, sans radiator and battery. I inadvertently joined the UK Volvo forum and asked for help identifying my car based on the embossed plate, some photos of the engine and dash. A few British gents responded that indeed mine is a 1959 with a transplanted B18B engine. I’m ready to start a practical restoration. Any comments on this model will be appreciated.
Does anyone know the feasibility of converting a B16 radiator to fit a B18 engine (with the return outlet on the passenger side)? My 1959 544 shroud will apparently only accept the upright style of radiator, which has the return pipe on the driver’s side.
