Greets from OKC
Hello all...
I've been considering a 240 V8 conversion for some time for the last year or so... And while I have backed away from that for now, we -did- buy an '86 245 DL Auto. No frills, but low mileage (135K). It will replace the missus' '01 Dodge 4X4 ClubCab, as 12 mpg average is just not cutting it any more. We've had the car about 2 weeks now, and even though it still needs some proper tuning, I am getting 20+ mpg average. I anticipate this to improve as I figure out how to tune this thing (Bentley is on the way). I may get a 242 later for the V8 conversion, that would make more sense.
About me- I've been driving, working on, and tuning VWs for 20 years now. Great cars, but I am getting tired of working on them frankly. I prefer to just drive them. I am hoping Volvos will improve that attitude, and I am looking forward to modding this wagon a lot!
