Default Hello~I'm a newbie

Hello, I purchased a 740GLE (Non-Turbo), 1988 for my daughter last year. She absolutely loves her car, his name is Thor...what-she's 18 and in high school, ahha.

I found the forum by google while frantically searching to find out why the car suddenly stopped running (while driving). I am sad to say, that I haven't found the answer yet-but hopefully we will figure it out without sending it to the shop.

Here are Thor's stats:
1988 740GLE, N/T
160K miles

We replaced:
The timing belt (as we have not had any problems leading up to this incident - apparently not the solution, but obviously needed to be done once we saw it)
Ignition switch
Ignition coil

Now, I'm no mechanic, but I am leaning on the fuel issues solely on past events with other vehicles...of course, the husband doesn't agree.

There is spark, and there is a normal sound when turning the key; there is a full tank of gas...I am trying to find a solution, and am hesitant to open a thread as I haven't read all the old threads yet. But, if you happen to see this-and have some thoughts, please let me know.

Thanks! Em
