Hello all
Hi,
I had to sell my 99 Lexus LS400 due to needing the extra money every month because of the economy so I decided not to buy a car with a loan for a while. I wanted to pay cash so I was looking for something cheap that could get me back and forth to work for a year or two. I got this 89 Camry for $500 but turns out it is going to need at least $1500 to be reliable so I slapped myself in the face for that buy. I have 3 kids so i thought to myself I need something family oriented. I was at a local mall at night and saw on the way out this red 1995 Volvo 850 wagon non-turbo (i always loved the look of the volvo wagon from the mid 90's) it said runs 100% and was asking $1600. I called the number the next day that was painted on the back windows and went to look at it yesterday. Guy got it from a auto auction. It has 183k miles looks in great condition inside and out. Black leather is a little worn as expected on the front seats. Started fine and runs quiet as anything. Guy showed me the negative battery cable needs a new clamp no biggie. Radio is locked out due to battery being off so long as I was told anyone know the best way to go about that. I pick up the car on 2/6/09 after he gets the oil changed and washes the outside. Check engine light is on but car runs fine from the drive I took. I figure it can't be too bad maybe and O2 sensor. It has all the options (cold weather package, traction, leather). Thanks for letting me introduce myself. Adam |

RE: Hello all
Welcome to the forum.
I can see some changes from a Lexus LS400 (UCF20) to a Camry. Volvos need TLC, as well as all other makes. Expect some electronic/electrical issues but most are within repair. Did you already buy the car? Volvos are so much better with turbocharger so I would wanted to tell you to look for a turboed model. Anyway, see you around the forum. JPN |
