<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"> Hello! My wife and I started our Volvo trip when we purchased a old Blue 740T sedan from our new neighbors daughter who needed cash for college. We fell inlove with the spunk and great turning radius. compared to our last cars a 85 Pontiac grand Prix ( a Dawg but great highway mileage) an a 82 Chevy cavalier ( lasted 10 years but what a Dawg) I had sold my Mazda RX7 GSLSE ( fun to drive but not comfortable for my wife. Our new grand child loved the car He was safe and when he was older could see out and point out the things he saw ( mostly construction equipment). I was working on the Auto Show circuit so guess where I spent most of my time. Yep in the Volvo Booth. I liked the S60 but I needed space so we bought a brand new 01 V70 2.4t. WOW was it cool. My wife was much more comfortable she is petit and the seats don't usually fit her well. She missed the tight turning radius and the better visibility in the 740. Boy can you pack a lot of Stuff in this wagon. I cannot begin to tell you all the things we can fit in this wagon. Our biggest complaints are the big blind spot right off the divers side, and rather large A pilars. Well when the 740 began to show more interior wear ( it was rough to begin with and just got worse) the Motor and trany were great but the rack and pinion was wearing out. I decided to look for a newer wagon 850 type. Wellllllll we were looking at wagons and lo and behold we came across an 97 854Rand it was all over. My wife sugested it! I think I will get the wagon because she will take the R first. All has been well on the mechanical side for both. Mostly a few clunks and bumps but no horrendous failures. I have been reading all the forums for years ( researching the new V70 and the 850 be for purchase) I have decided to join in the fun. Thank you for the insite and candor about you cars and Volvo service good and bad so that others may learn and get the most rolling strength out of there Volvo's.
