Just picked up a 1995 960. She's a little rough but I can make it work. Any ideas where to find used parts for this model?

Hope it does you well. Here are a few tips:

• The 960 and S90 are pretty much the same car.
• These cars have timing belts and interfierence motors which means if the belt breaks it damages the motor. Get the belt changed ASAP (unless you have proof it's been done already).
• Never use junk oil filters. Always use the Volvo OEM filters or Mann.
• The car is suppose to run with 91+ octane.
• The ignition is a common problem. You have to turn it back a little after it starts to get eveything to work right.

The power seat cables back out a lot. Easy fix, see the DIY threads.

Welcome from another new 960 owner. Enjoy!

 

1. Car will idle rough during cold start. After revving it up a few times it will smooth out. Not a big deal but just wondering what might be causing this.

2. The brakes are hard, feels like there is no boost but only for a few minutes after startup. Minutes later they feel alright.

Any input is appreciated.
