Default Hello everybody... 2004 VOLVO S60

Hi Volvo lovers. I've been looking for the longest time for a Volvo forum. I currently drive a 2004 Volvo S60 2.4
I really love this car, and have been in love with it since it came out back in 2001, never thinking that I would actually ever get toown one.

I am pretty familiar with Volvos. I drove for almost 1 year my sister's 2000 Volvo V40 1.9T
I was hooked the first time I drove it, and wanted to purchase the trunk version of it. This was back in 2005. Recently I was in the market for a car and I jumpedat the opportunity to broaden my horizons. So I decided I would buy the S60. I had the chance to buy a black 2001 S60 with 89k miles on it for $9000.00, but when I went to pick it up, it had been sold.

So after some seraching around I wound up buying a 2004 S60 2.4

So far it's been great (bought 3 weeks ago), but already got some complaints.

number 1, I know this is the base trim, but it really lacks power.
number 2, It idles, runs, and cruises really rough (is this a volvo trend? my sister's v40 is pretty rough too) Weird for a $30k car

But all in all I am very happy with my car.
Here are some pictures of it

Here are my short term upgrades

For now the first thing I'm doing which I just bought, are the set of fog lights, stock, since all the wireing is in place from the factory. All I will need is a $25 dealer software upgrade so that the car will recognize them, anda switch button.

Second thing I'm getting is a factory rear spoiler.

Next, I will install an HID kit, but keeping the original non projection headlamps, since replacing them is so costly.

And lastI am getting factory Nebula wheels. I am debating whether to get 17" or 18". Eighteen look very nice but tires are pretty expensive.

Long term, I am thinking of a factory S60 sport body kit, vented discs, navigation system (stock), 2006 tail lights, projection head lamps, and eventually start adding a few mods to get a little more power out of this turtle.

I guess at the end of the day I am looking for a 2006 S60 T5 look with a body kit and a spoiler.

I will be writing and asking lots of questions so bare with me.

Thanks!
Giovanni

Welcome. A K & N airfilter will give you a little bit more in the power department. Like the spoiler idea. I went with 17" Canistos on my S60. Looks good and tires are less $$'s than the 18's. Post before and after pics.

Welcome to the forum, I wish you have a good time here.

S60 is a nice machine. Be sure to post technical questions/answers in the S60 forum.
