Hello everyone
I'm new here. I usually hang-out on a Chopper forum or two because I'm a motorcycle nut and addicted to chopping and customizing (and riding) them.
I got a '79 Volvo 244DL a few years back, and now it's my daughters car. I'm hoping I can keep up with the maintenance it needs with a teenager driving it. I'm also hoping you all can answer some of the mysteries about the model. I'll ask questions in the appropriate areas when I think of how to ask the questions.
I have to say that since day one, I've been impressed with the Swedish engineering that went ito this little car. Amazing things were stock on this car back in '79 that are only now becoming popular on US models. It's also a car I can feel confident about my daughter driving because of the reputation it has for safety. Not only is it a good first car, but the late 70's styling has all her friends jealous. It could use some rust repair around the fender wells and bottom of the doors, but all in all the body is in wonderful condition for a car it's age that has spent it's entire existence in MN and WI.
Thanks, and see you around the forum.
