Hello hello!
Hi!
I just joined today. I just recently got my first Volvo for my 18th birthday back in Sept., its a 1979 245 DL. It has a manual transmission and up until I got the car, all I knew how to drive was automatic.
The car itself needs a lot of work. I have to unhook the battery every time I am done driving it or it'll drain itself, when driving it sounds like the the front left tire in that general area is roaring, and other little things too.
Is it suppose to be a pain to release emergancy brake or am I just really weak?
Also does anyone have a good suggestion for mechanic's book for the car?
Thanks,
Asheragold

RE: Hello hello!
Welcome to the forum.Check to make sure your glove box light isn't staying on.The noise from the L/F sounds like your wheel bearing is bad.Try not pulling the e-brake up so far and see what happens. The cable might have to be adjusted. You can buy a chilton manual or a haynes manual. They are pretty good aids on repairs.
