RE: hello i need help and im new
Hi Tyler,
Greetings.
As I'm an 850 driver, I don't know much about 240s. However, in regard to the dead cylinder, I would check the following:
1. Spark plug condition, ignition wire for loose connections, distributor cap for severe carbon build-up.
2. Electrical connector to the fuel injector for looseness/cleanliness.
3. Loss of compression (this would have to be done at a shop, unless you know how and have a compression gauge)
Or if it's Diesel:
1. Glow plug inoperative.
2. Fuel injector problem (clogged, etc...)
3. Loss of compression
I cannot tell you exactly what's wrong, unless I myself test the car. Also, try posting this question in the 240 section; people there have much better knowledge than I do on 240s and could help you better than I could. Also, as to the repair cost, no one can give you exact figures, as it depends on what the car needs.
Good luck,
JPN
