Default Hello from new member

Just checking in as requested. I have a 2002 V70 2.4T. Always looking for info on this car. My next project will be having my DIM module repaired by one of the electronic technicians offering this service for about $150. SRS alert always on and other messages appear and disappear with some regularity. I understand this is a known manufacturing defect in 2001-2005 V70s and wonder why Volvo has not addressed it with a recall and fixed the problem? Everyone seems to know about it except Volvo service reps, who want to replace the unit with a $2,000 new one! My guess is they know full well but have been told to keep it mum so the company doesn't get sued. Anyone have similar issues?

lots of documentation online regarding the DIM module. its not uncommon for this vintage Volvo to have issues with some of the electronic modules due to solder joint cracks. Similar issues crop up with the ABS controller and CEMs. Good news is there are services who will repair the units.
