Default Hi Everybody

I first wanna say this is a very cool forum. I have all ready learned a lot of new things just by lurking around here for the past few days. 3 days ago I bought my first Volvo. A 1989 Volvo240 DL automaticfor $850. The body is in excellant shape (but needs paints). The interior is pretty good just needs front seat cushions and covers. The drivetrain is where I'm gonna put in some hard work. The previous owners did not take such good care of her. It has several oil leaks (dirty flame trap), needs a good tune-up, needs some wiring harness repairs. Oh and it's missing the air cleaner assembly ??? Not just the filter but the box and hose. But still she runs very strong. I have never worked on Volvo before. But I do have experience with muscle cars mostly Mopars. I am by no means any kind of "pro". But I have turned a few wrenches and I have a little paint and body experience.I'll be flooding the 240 section with a bunch of questions. I'll try to use the search feature so I won't annoyanyone. I'll post some pics as soon as my kids teach me how to use the digital camera. Many thanks for all of the help that this forum will bring me in the future.

Default RE: Hi Everybody

Greetings from Vermont.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you have a good experience here, as well as with your Volvo.

I'm an 850 driver, so I'm not pryvy to other Volvos. When you have technical questions, people in the 240 section should be able to help you. I usually don't go out of 850 & general topic sections, but the people in the 850 section are extremely knowledgeable & skilled. I'm sure it's the same in the 240 section.

Good luck & enjoy!

Sincerely,

JPN
