Hi Everyone! Just joined! I have owned my second volvo for about a week. I got an 2018 S90 Momentum 4wd. I really really like it. My first Volvo was a 2002 V70. We kept that car for about 5 years before the suspension went. I have been looking around for a while and found this California/AZ only 2018. It is a beautiful Luminous Sand Metallic with Amber leather interior. I am getting used to the infotainment system-- I did a factory reset after about 4 days because there were a lot of settings that I could not get rid of easily (or that I could figure out). After factory reset-- all is well.

This is a really beautiful car, and hopefully the mileage on it isn't too great. Nevertheless, it looks to have been very well maintained. As the owner of an S60 sedan, I'm always curious to know what makes people in this day and age (like myself, and you, apparently) opt to purchase a sedan rather than a now ubiquitous SUV, and on top of that one with a premium gasoline guzzling engine rather tnan a more refined electric motor. I see the cute little Tesla 3 all over the place nowadays, and I can't help but envy these people when I go to fill up my tank and it costs me $50 or more for about 200 miles of driving. Surely something is wrong with this picture? Anyway, we all do things we later regret, but hopefully you won't experience any buyers remorse over this purchase. Welcome.

My work commute has me contemplating a Volvo hybrid, but I have also read so many issues with them, technology wise. Which are issues I cannot fix myself. I think that is a huge factor for a lot of people that work on their own cars. Their own inability, as most customers, to fix and diagnose the complicated electrical systems in the newer cars.
I personally do not prefer all electric, I like hybrid as a happy medium.
I too have an S60 and Sedans and SUVs are very different vehicles. I like the handling and size of a sedan better. I prefer to be in a smaller car rather than a suv or truck. Trucks especially. I can drive most normal size trucks (think like a RAM1500 or so), but my dad has a Ram 2500 Diesel and I won't touch it lol. Too big for my comfort. Isn't it funny how a xc60 and S60 have practically the same gas mileage?

Hi thanks for the welcome. The mileage on it was about 49k. I have put a few hundred miles on it since I picked it up. Before this I owned a Subaru Outback. It was costing, even at regular, 60 or more to fill up. So I think I will be spending either way no matter which car it is. I just got a new job earning good money so the extra jump from regular to premium won’t hurt that bad.
The reasons I chose something of a unicorn (I haven’t seen one like this since I got it. I have only seen one other S60– the other Volvos I have seen were XC90’s,) were two fold. I am turning 50 at the end of the month and a theme throughout my life is I never went the way others did— I always chose the road less traveled. I read something that this car is the “un-cola” of the mid size luxury market. I liked that. So this car, for me, represents me going my own way. Secondly, I have an issue with my knee and getting into and out of a SUV every day would cause some pain, so a car that is lower to the ground is better for me. I live in AZ and I don’t care what they say, I have heard many bad things about hybrid batteries in the AZ heat failing more than normal. So until they get that under control, I won’t be making the jump to a hybrid. Plus our electricity costs in AZ are very high, so that would cost more.

I agree I like driving a sedan better than an SUV. I also like the luxury that Volvo provides.
