We get 6-8 months of winter, and a few good months of summer.

I love VW, Toyota and Volvo... blame my folks for owning VW and Volvo in my youth.
I am not a mechanic but can do pretty good repair work.


I joined the forum for added information on V70 and V70XC line in hopes to make a valued and educated decision on a family wagon. I currently have a mess of vehicles, Intrepid, Jeep, (2) VW Golf. I am looking at reducing my fleet to 2 vehicles to service the needs of our small family of 4.
Volvo having served my dad well for years I will also trust it with my family in hopes it will also give me a years of service and one of the safest vehicles to drive in, for the kids.

I partially understand what you mean about the winter. I've lived in Vermont for 5.5 years and winter there is really harsh too and lasts a long time.
