Default Howdy, Fellow Volvoids

I just inherited my wife's 1999 V70 with coveted 5 speed manny tranny.

I'm mostly a bike commuter, so my needs will be light (good thing, as it's got 180K on it!). I am a musician on the side, so it will be a great vehicle for hauling gear!

I'll be trying to self-maintain the easy stuff, farm out the tough stuff, although my wife and I were never able to find that elusive great Volvo mechanic.

My first car ever was a 1969 142, that was in hopeless shape when I bought it in 1980 for a thousand bucks. The damn thing just kept running for a good 125K more miles. Pieces would fall off it, but it never died.

Anyway, that's my story, at least the Volvo relevant part...
