I have a 2004 turbo S60 volvo, the Check Engine Light came on. What I have done to remove turn off the light, I disconected the negative post of the battery, the light came off. Is this good enough to fix the problem. I took the car to a mechanic who told me that the problem is related to Fuel Pressure Sensor and the job will be at about $900. I don't have this much money.

I'm retired I don't make that much. Please advice. Thank you

Hi Ed, Welcome to VF.

Disconnecting the battery is only a temporary fix. If there is an issue with the fuel system, the light will come back on. If/When it does, post a thread in the S80 section with the code and we will help you fix the problem yourself.

Welcome to the forum. Don't ignore CEL's. Something needs attention.

If you're on a limited budget and unable to perform your own repairs, sell the car.

Or, save up some money so that you can get it fixed properly. No need to sell the car.
